Being a CEO is a privilege, sure. But let’s be honest, it’s also a pressure cooker. Decisions come thick and fast, the to-do list never ends, and half the time you’re expected to be in three places at once, preferably looking calm and visionary. During my time as a CEO, I learned something very quickly. You can’t do it all alone. And you shouldn’t. The best decisions I ever made? Not always the flashy ones. It was bringing the right people into my inner circle. Trusted consultants weren’t just helpful, they were essential.

The ones I valued most weren’t there for show or jargon-filled strategy “journeys”. I mean the real ones. The people I could call in confidence, no agenda. The ones who would ask the right questions, help me cut through the noise, and quietly get stuff done when I was juggling flaming swords.

That’s the model I’ve taken forward with Hiller Creative. I’ve built this consultancy on the foundations of how I always wanted external partners to show up. I work with purpose-driven leaders and organisations that need clear thinking, real support and fast results. No spin. No fluff. Just experience, integrity and action.

I understand the pressures of leadership from the inside because I’ve lived them. I know what it’s like to juggle competing priorities, lead through change, build influence and deliver on tight deadlines. And I know how important it is to have someone you can trust. I’ve lived the pressure, the complexity and yes, the joy of real impact. I know how important it is to have someone who can step in, take the brief (the actual brief, not the 17-page version), and deliver.

No waffle. No smoke and mirrors. Just deep experience, sharp thinking and a healthy respect for your time.

So… if you’re a leader who wants a consultant that’s part strategy, part action, part “I can’t believe we got that sorted so fast” then we should talk.

AI Check For This Post

Hey there, I learnt to write before AI. It was the 90’s – right before the internet was a thing. We used em dashes and hyphens with abandon and no shame. Spell check was a game changer. To be fair (and I’m not being up myself), but I think AI was taught how to write by Gen X (that’s me and my mates). Anyway, I’m adding this icon to show you that I am human and that I’m not opposed to AI, I just don’t rely on it 100% and neither should you!

Today it was 0% so there is probably a spelling mistake or two. No shame. I’m human.
